so how long into django did it take before you stopped thinking of Christopher Waltz as Hans Landa?

Hahaha, it actually added to his character.  He plays this nice german guy against slavery and the guy who's helping Django, and i kept waiting for him to do something similar to what he did at the end of Inglorious Bastards.

Just watched Margin Call (free on Amazon Prime).  Pretty good movie and kind of a cliff notes on the financial meltdown.

His performance in Inglorious bastards is one of the greatest acting performances I've ever seen, really I'm hard pressed to think of anything better.

i was blown away by it.  as great as some of the performances were in that movie (fassbender, pitt, couple of the broads, etc) he stole the show.

I liked it... but I was waiting for that big HOLY crap moment from one of the characters... but it never came... it just kind of happened and all the characters were powerless to stop it.

And then parts III, IV, and V.  Respectively 7, 16, and 22 years from now.  We just can't help our selves and keep building these, essentially, ponzi schemes.  It's what has made the world, with all its riches, what it is today, but one of the downsides is that there are these periodic crashes that seem to keep catching all the experts by surprise.

One of the things I liked about the movie was that it didn't absolve anyone from blame.

Stripes was on late last night, so of course I had no choice but to watch it.  I didn't realize Sgt. Hulka died shortly after making the film.  The world lost a great "big toe."

"Paul Schrader, Bret Easton Ellis, Lindsay Lohan and a pictures star named James Deen try to make a movie that will save all of their careers. What could go wrong?"

Eh, I truly feel bad for Lohan. It's horrible, and she deserves better than what she has. Her parents are a train wreck. Just watching Michael on Celebrity Rehab, the girl never had a chance. Before she fractured, she wasn't even a bad actress.

She'll end up dead in five years tops, saddening because she is surrounded by vultures/her family and agents picking her corpse before she dies. One positive influence in her life, one she'll never have, and.. well, this type of crap wouldn't be going on. Much as she is despised, lest we forget her SNl stint last March was largely heralded. But whether returning to film and reputability or leaving the biz ala Clara Bow to live happily, albeit for both as madwomen, I hate seeing her spiral continue unabated as with the above movie.

Lincoln is leaving the theatres (at least where I live) soon.  Is it worth seeing in the theatres, or is it one that would translate to home watching well?

It'll be fine. No real action that you need to see on the big screen.

Agree with this. Not really mandatory viewing anyway, although it is pretty darn good.

yea lincoln is good, but its find for home viewing as long as you are okay with the long running time of the movie.  i find it funny that marlon wayans is making a parody scary movie a la paranormal activity, and i saw a preview for scary movie 5 which has the exact same parody plot.  over/under on total laughs between both movies=1.5.
