google just announced it's looking for a new head of social for the company after every foray into social crashed and burned so far.
I think Buzz would be useful for companies who are using google mail/apps/reader to share updates about activities or to tell others about interesting articles found in reader. I follow about 15 people on buzz (friends from my gmail account), and only one posts anything regularly. Twitter doesn't have anything to worry about.
