Yeah, I don't master the details but there was a lot of flexibility as I recall.  Garcia's got to be in.

no, he can't, because he's ineligible as a september callup.

But if he takes Strasburg's spot it doesn't matter that he wasn't activated before 9/1 as long as he was within the organization and the commissioner's office approves the transaction. I don't think he can take Rodriguez or Ramos's spot because they have been gone for a while (and also Ramos is a position player and the replacement has to be of the same position).

But those in the sept calllup can replace DL'ed men on the 25 roster

Here's the link, guys.

Parse it, I'm sure Garcia is eligible.

"Another example of Davey trusting his players to come through in the clutch" (Darling / Hernandez on Suzuki hitting away rather than trying to bunt Espi to 3B)

Wouldn't you put the fast guy on 2B?

You'd have to take out your catcher for that. Plus you want the fast guy to be able to score from first on a double.

Werth would have taken that pitch last year.  What happened to him?

I was just debating that (with myself).

Sure, he's got catchers available on the bench, but Suzuki isn't the slowest catcher and maybe he's gambling for 2 runs here.  Given no outs and all.

Then you need to burn another catcher.  Don't want to use Flores (doesn't he have a start tomorrow?) and I wouldn't use Leon unless it was an emergency.

We have three catchers!   It's the ninth inning.

Suzuki is much better than Flores & Leon.
