Lannan had nothing in the tank as he gave up six runs in four innings against
the Braves last Saturday. Jeff Francouer did most of the damage, driving in
five runs against the youngster. Lannan acknowledged that he didn't follow
pitching coach Randy St. Claire's gameplan and he paid the price. After the
game, Lannan spent almost an hour watching video with St. Claire.

Figueroa made an emotional start in front of his hometown crowd last
Friday night, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning and ultimately winning
his first decision since 2003. He was efficient with his pitches, throwing
first-pitch strikes with a fastball that rested around 87 miles per hour.
The effort was enough to earn him a start against the Nationals, whom
he's never faced. The last time Figueroa spent time in the Major Leagues,
they were the Expos, and he produced a 2.81 ERA in four career starts
against them.
