I think this is the only thing I went out on a limb for.

I was kidding anyway, just stunned that JMad, who was equally entrenched, flipped to the other side of the argument.

Again, ideally, Lannan pitches 200 innings this season. I don't WANT him to fail, I'm just annoyed because the bullpen is exhausted.

hopefully our guys realize even the better teams have blowup bullpen losses like this (see: phillies vs. us when dunn/zimmerman went yard).

but brian bruney and miguel batista need to be gone.

Shut the cable back off. I suck. :whip:

True, and I'll give you credit for that.  But unless you have some insider connection, you were going on the same info the rest of us had and just operating on an assumption (that he was injured).

Now that enough information is available to reasonably make that assumption, I'd agree that he shouldn't be on the roster.

That was Danys Baez though. That was expected. Just like this is expected when Bruney goes out.

I believe we'll win tomorrow. We lost that heartbreaking one where Nyjer freaked up going to third. Then we came back the next day and won. I feel this loss is similar (more heartbreaking though).

That simply wasn't as bad of a lose. This team was cruising into a win and everyone got too comfortable. Riggleman brought in Bruney and played around with the runs. Clippard has been in a slump for about 2 weeks now and has gotten out of most of his trouble. This is simply a much worse lose than an extra inning nail bitter. This was a comeback that never should have happenned. This one could sting for a while.

My thing with Lannan was that even if he wasn't on the DL, he should have done a couple of minor league starts to shake things off.  I also stated repeatedly that he is a top notch human being with a hell of a pitching IQ.

They need to make bullpen moves tonight just to get fresh guys up. They should have Saul Rivera'ed Bruney and made him finish the game.

They really should have

How big do you think the circle-jerk going on at FG right now is?

i agree but there's ways to avoid that:

1) look in the mirror and say freak it go after these dbag bastards tomorrow.  our pitching has bailed our offense outta games, tonight our offense had a good game but they were let down down by the pen.  as a team they need to suck it up and go after these punks.

2) the front office can make a move.  when guys struggle and don't deserve to be here, well moves should be made.

Remember how incredibly indignant Bruney was after arbitration?

They sure told us. This one game and future losing streak is sure going to define our season. We haven't had a lot of streaks this year good or bad but they will come, and it is about time. Especially heading to Denver where we have had so many nightmares. Speaking of which is this worse than the Cordero and Rauch blowing the 5 run lead in Coors Field?

I guess it makes sense to put Storen in now.

The chances are he probably won't be around when he finally ends arbitration due to the fact that bullpen guys burn out so fast... so Super 2 probably won't apply to him.

Cordero's grand slam blown save against the Braves felt like an actual punch in my stomach. The Braves owned him.

I remember us coming back like this to beat the Yankees. Losses like these happen, the key is to not let it fester.
