Completely up to you. I do it because I'm 52, and there's no way I'd be running anymore if I wasn't doing it barefoot-style. Joints don't ache at all anymore. My muscles hurt from time to time and in weird ways, but muscles recover. Joints don't after a while.
Plus it just feels great.
Couch-2-5K could be a great way to start. You can always go back to standard shoes.
are you running actual barefoot or barefoot "style" with the toe shoes?
