Langerhans stats this year are on a low number of at bats. His past numbers show that he can be productive. He's a more flexible defender, and once his numbers settle back to normal, he should be able to do at least as well as Snelling. This should just give us more flexibility. If Nook can't hit and or gets hurt, and Escobar never sees the light of day, an OF of Kearns, Church, and Langerhans isn't bad at all.

I agree ... can also back up first from what I understand - and considering that Nick is just now starting to hit off a tee ... could still be a while before he's back to playing every day ...

OK if 48 at-bats isn't enough how about 705 career at-bats?  In those 705 at-bats he is hitting .241 and has struck out 190 times in those 705 at-bats.  He strikes out 27 % of the time.

I'm becoming afraid Church will be traded very soon. He is our only source of offense this year, so I hope not.

Although this trade may seem to signal that possibility, you're absolutely right. That would be a disaster considering how weak our offense has been thus far.

we might lose tonight - but at least Lopez got a leadoff double, stole 3rd and scored. its about time that he did something that a leadoff hitter ought to do.
