Post clinch starting line up
« Topic Start: September 29, 2012, 05:03:37 PM »
I'm going to the game Tuesday night and I'm going to be optimistic in assuming we will have the division crown wrapped up by then........would Davey rest the majority of the starting nine, play them only a few innings then bring in the goon squad?
It wouldn't concern me either way, I would actually like to see guys like Tracy, Brown, Moore, etc. get some innings!

CF Perez
SS Lombardozzi
2B DeRosa
3B Tracy
1B Moore
RF Brown
LF Bernadina
C Flores/Leon

I think Espy could play some short and they'd move Lombo and DeRosa around a bit.

If they win the division tomorrow/later today, I don't think the last three games will be full out "goon squad" but I can see them sitting Werth for 2 or maybe all three games, Maybe Ryan for one, heck maybe they could let Clip throw a few innings, even if he blows the game, just to try to figure out why he is  tanking it.

So does anyone care about beating the Reds for home field in the NLCS?

Not me. I'd rather have home field in a five-game series, but in a seven? If I remember right, the Yankees lost the first two in LA in '78, cem home and won three, then finished the Dodgers in LA.

Ehhhhh...anyway, I'm just glad the Nats are NL East Champions!!

The Phillies line-up:

1) Frandsen (5)
2) Mayberry (8)
3) Utley (4)
4) Wigginton (3)
5) Ruf (7)
6) Brown (9)
7) Kratz (2)
8) Martinez (6)
9) Rosenberg (1)

So it's basically going to be Lehigh Valley vs. Syracuse tonight.  Awesome.

gio needs to get a 1 inning bullpen appearance in to put him over the 200 IP mark.  There is practically a zero chance of a starter with less than 200 IP winning the cy

I hope Davey sends Strassburg up as a pinch-hitter. Would give the crowd a chance to cheer him, and he's not a bad hitter, either.

I'd rather the giants in the first round than the wild card winner

Dodgers now have a realistic chance of winning the West.

???  They *might* get the second Wild Card, but they're eight games behind the Giants.
