I don't know what all the fuss was about in the first place, or why people were so quick to jump on the Nats for not sending him to AA. A 9/14 BB/K ratio in 82 plate appearances is hardly indicative of a guy who can't hang.

Nice to see Tyler Moore keeping his walk rate above 10% of PA as well. That's a vast improvement.

agreed.  i think harper is where he should be (but then again i'd love to bring him up right now haha).

I see some people clamoring for Tyler Moore. Is he that much better prepared to play MLB ball than Harper? Or is it that Harper should be starting every day where as Moore can platoon or something of that nature?

Moore has a lot more time in the minors than Harper, and demonstrable power.  He's 25 with almost 2k PAs at A, AA, and AAA.  68HRs in his last 2 years (including 6 already this year at AAA).  In 20 games at AAA: .278 .354   .556

This thread now goes into the MoveOn.org / Lock and Load Prospects Meorial Section of the FTP Master list.  No more posts here unless he is sent back down with rookie eligibility.

Those are called "gameday threads".

No, no, and no.  Just leave the thread alone guys.  Harper will more likely than not be playing in the minors again before very long, so just let the thread lie dormant for now.

I'd guess that Harper goes back to AAA when Morse returns, but "when" might be a long time.

Rizzo said yesterday the plan is to send harper back to AAA when zim returns, unless harper's performance changes his mind.

On the advice of the top secret WNFF council of elders, I am locking this thread until such time as Harper is sent back to the minors.
