Is this a make up game?

I don't know about this one. Part of me thinks that Balester is about to get shelled.

For those going tonight: weather issues that have dogged this team all season (as if the on-field issues weren't bad enough) returning, with Yahoo! Weather predicting scattered thunderstorms - 40% chance of rain today, 50% tonight.

Yeah ... J.D. Martin-style.

Except that was Martin's big league debut.  Balester's been up here before, he shouldn't have the first time jitters JD had...until Pujols steps in the box.

yep. He gave up 14 hits and 6 earned runs in his last AAA start and on the season opposing batters are hitting .300 off of him.

On the other hand, he's only here because Zimmermann is on the DL. He's pretty much pitching for his job every start.

Crystal City has been getting occasional showers, nothing of note, radar makes the stuff to the west of us look like if we got hit, it'd be over quick (now NYC looks like they're gonna get hammered to night).

Guess he couldn't handle the pressure of facing our remarkable team.

Too bad Riggleman keeps resting our guys at odd moments.  Pitcher who is tough on righties would be a good time to rest Alberto and possibly Hammer.

What an insult. I'm glad Pujols is not playing but I hope we make LaRussa pay for his cocky ass arrogance.

They figure that they can rest their star and still handily beat the lowly Nats.
