Why throw him out, Cowboy Joe? Everyone knew what was going on.

Watching West struggle to rotate his body on the toss-out call makes me wonder how he manages to accomplish any number of daily activities.

And you'd get plunked your next time up for showboating.  Hope you wouldn't fault the other guy for that either.

So should Clippard and Capps be plunked because they obviously show emotion after a big strike out or inning?

My only problem would be with the fact that Phillips didn't charge the mound. There's no way I let someone hit me intentionally without retaliating.

When he dies, they should just blame Pete Rose. They seem to have no problems persecuting him for "killing" a fat ass umpire.

It was with a 93mph fastball Batista plunked Phillips with.

No need for that.  Everyone knew what was happening, no need to escalate it further, it should be done now.

He knows he deserved it. I wonder if he'd feel bad if he knocked Nieves unconscious?

With all that mass, he has some stored angular momentum - his ass has flywheels.

Someone called Clippard's emotion swagger and that he hoped he never stops doing it. Which is fine by me. I accept the fact that players are all different and they have different ways of expressing their emotions while some don't show it at all. But that also is true for players on other teams. Phillips is probably an emotional guy and he was pumped up after that play. I don't think he's an jerk for it. And I doubt I would've plunked him. I can't be angry with someone because he beats me on the field fairly. I guess that's why some people hate certain teams (because they own us on the field). Having said that, the Nats decided to plunk him and I'm OK with that too. I would rather we take it out on them on the field but it seems we couldn't do that tonight.

I concur.  Atilano STAYS. Stammen...say HI to Syracuse.

I expect that JD Martin goes to Syracuse when  :worship: Strasburg arrives.
Stammen goes when Scott Olsen returns.
