haha.. Can anyone with a straight face say that these guys are not just "rolling over"?  They aren't even making solid contact, at all.  Maine is going for a CG shutout.

That should just about do it.  The umps may play a little longer just to try to tease everyone into thinking they weren't planning to call the game in the 5th anyways.

Speaking of getting victimized, if Bonds doesn't take care of business today he's going to get us sometime in that 4 game series in SF.

Not if we don't pitch to him and we shouldn't.

He's had a day off already this year hasn't he?

Nope ... not this year - he's played every inning of every game so far

Man going to that game with Bonds at RFK would be like entering a lottery with much better odds.  Who want to be a millionaire?   :icon_mrgreen:

Does everyone think that if Barry doesn't homer today that he is indeed going to sit every road game next week? I think that's ridiculous but a lot of the guys in the Media think he HAS to break the record at home.

He's played every game but I'm sure he's been pulled from a blowout loss.

Just call the game already - way too risky - the last thing we need  is another pitcher on the DL

what I tell you?  This is all just for show...the umps planned on calling this thing now anyways.  And Traber wants to hit the showers.

I'm not so sure - I know that happened last year - don't recall it happening this year ...

Puhleese getting Traber on the DL would be doing us a favor.

That may have happened once.

Whoever said it was correct. They waited for the game to be official to delay the game. They could've played this game tomorrow. Both teams are off tomorrow anyway.

This is definitely the best case scenario.  This way we save our relievers and also rest the position players.  We should be ready to go on Tuesday.  I want us to go 4-2 during this upcoming homestand.

Ok ... why not engage in a little wishful thinking here - I mean it's a rain delay - what else is there to do ... if the delay is more than 30 minutes - Maine won't come back out ... and who knows ... we may have a chance :)

How's that for silver linings ... uh??

If this game is just delayed and not called, that makes it worse because we might have to use another pitcher from the bullpen.

Of course, they might have to go to their bullpen too, so we'd get rid of Maine.

Well the best case scenario would have had us winning..but with what we have.  I'll take this option.   :)

First of all, I would never wish injury on any player for any reason - as it is Traber is NOT on the mound - it's Shroder and I DO NOT want him on the DL ...

I think he'll rest for a couple games and play about half of them but that doesn't mean he will get pitches to hit from the Dodgers or that he'll swing for the fences anyway.

Sens that series will be in SF. By the time the Giants come to town Bonds will have already eclipsed the record.

Sf is the only place he would be cheered. I expect bonds to sit until they go back home

Ha ... did you ever see the SNL spoof they did with Annie and the NYC mayor Koch? He was on a ledge, threatening to jump - then Annie comes on the ledge and starts singing, "... The Sun will come out Tomorrow! ..."

Koch pushed her off the ledge ... it was hilarious
