75 million upgrades in a month is a tremendous numbers.

If that's worldwide it seems kind of weak when you consider how many PC's there are.

75 million upgrades in the first month FAR outpaces any other new version of Windows.  It's not even close.  It's multiple times more.

Since they're giving it away for free the numbers should be thru the roof.

75 million upgrades in a month. Doesn't seem like a lot.

Windows 7 did 60 million in the first two months for comparison.

They are through the roof, and a lot of these are people doing in place upgrades on their own. It's an incredible success.

It's happened, it's finally happened!  After all this...month.  Windows 10 marketshare has moved past OS X.

http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-10-claims-521-of-the-desktop-os-market-share-in-just-one-month

Is it ok to publicly acknowledge that OS X is crap?  ios is too but that a post for another day.

Free vs $20, hmmmmmmmh. One OS is on approximately 90% of the computers while the other is in a niche market, hmmmmmmmh.

The diff is that you pay through the ass for Apple hardware and they still charge you for the OS but you could have bought the Windows pc five years ago, for a half or a third or even a quarter of the price and get Windows 10 for free.

Finally able to install 10. So far I like it, speedier. Beyond that I haven't investigated.

For the longest time they had those boxy old CRT's on their desks when flat screens were the norm.

This is something that may be common knowledge and I was just really, really slow to catch on to, but just in case it ain't I'll say it here:

If you own an XBox One and a Windows 10 device, download the XBox app. You can stream the XBox display to your device. The XBox does the heavy lifting in a graphical sense. This is great if you want to spend time on the XBox but your significant other / kids / parents want to use the TV.  Obviously they can't use the XBox to play something else or watch Netflix, but it does allow them to watch cable or use another console.
