With Martin on the mound, this game could turn into a shootout.

Willingham doesn't have a hitting streak.  ;)

can you imagine how much better Willingham's stats could have been if we hadn't wasted all that time with Kearns?

Willingham only has like 300 plate appearances.

Guzman's streak isn't 14.  He pinch hit against the Marlins and walked.

Actually you are wrong. I think I remember during the radio broadcast of that game, that Guzman didn't have an official AB so his streak continued.

Isn't sad that Guzman is the last link of the Original 2005 Nationals team and that era is about to end today.

Willingham is like 20-30 PA from being qualified. He would be the #2 OPS guy in the NL behind Pujols and would be in the leaderboard in a lot of other categories.

You state definitively that he's wrong and then you back it up with an "I think"?

You are wrong:

RULE 10.24 CONSECUTIVE HITTING STREAKS,

(a) A consecutive hitting streak shall not be terminated if the plate appearance results in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt. A sacrifice fly shall terminate the streak.

(b) CONSECUTIVE GAME HITTING STREAKS. A consecutive game hitting streak shall not be terminated if all the player's plate appearances (one or more) result in a base on balls, hit batsman, defensive interference or a sacrifice bunt.

The streak shall terminate if the player has a sacrifice fly and no hit. The player's individual consecutive game hitting streak shall be determined by the consecutive games in which the player appears and is not determined by his club's games.

I said at the trade deadline that we needed to trade any 1 of Dunn, Willingham, or Johnson.

I'm glad it was Johnson, and not Dunn or Willingham.

Factually, I'm right but the question would be if hitting streaks are continued/stopped with plate appearances or at-bats.  The walk is a plate appearance but not an at-bat.
