I love Ian. I wanted a team of 9 Ians today, or 8 and a Zimmerman. He is an insanely valuable player.

He is having an awesome series.  .583/.583/.667 through three games!  If the rest of the team were hitting half as well.....

Brett Haber ‏@BrettHaber
Ian Desmond admonished Bryce Harper in batting tunnel after today's @Nationals game. Bryce hitting off tee, when an animated Desmond gestured strenuously to him to return to the clubhouse. Bryce complied. Entire exchange visible to those in Pres. Club #Nationals

I don't understand what that's about.  If we don't know what was said then what's the point of this?

Taking anything from this is reading tea leaves, but as far as I'm concerned it's another reason to love Desmond.  If anybody gets it, it's him.

Dessie: Yo Bam Bam, get in here!
Bryce: I HATE MYSELF I NEED TO HIT OFF TEE AND RED CONTACTS AND STUFF
Dessie: TEAM MEET BAM BAM GET IN HERE

Ben Zobrist.

ID had the best offensive year of any full time SS last year., but he wasn't even the best defensive SS in the MASN region.

Poorly. He doesn't have the most sure hands or reliable arm

Ian has been a stud lately, and good for us all year.  Fun fact: He is first in WAR on the team since 2012.

As much as his bat has really developed, it seems, from an outsiders perspective, that Ian has become a real team leader as well.

Here's to Ian Desmond!

He really seems like a swell guy. I didn't think the Nationals were going to win tonight but they did and a lot of that has to be attributed to his solid play.
