Attendance 32,418 last night* (following another good turn-out the previous night - was there a promo on? Nats aren't usually crowd-pullers on the road)...Astros are averaging 26,690/fixture this season, selling to 65.2% of capacity at The Ballpark Formerly Known As Enron Field...got to give the local fans credit, still turning out despite the team's record...
...or, knowing the roof was going to be closed, were they all just popping in to get out of the goshawful heat/humidity?
(If you've never experienced Houston summer heat, you're in for an eye opener - it's every bit as beastly-hot and humid as advertised, but when I was down there about a decade ago what really struck me was how the heat/humidity gave the outdoor air an almost surreal, magnesium whitness.)
*even out-drawing Orioles-Red Sox at Preparation H Park at Camden Yards last night (32,314).
