Armando Antonio Galarraga started for Harrisburg and pitched well on a cool rain soaked night in Bowie going seven strong innings allowing one run on three hits and just one walk. He did not get a decision because the Baysox came from behind to win the game in the ninth 4 to 3.

The tall 23-year-old righty has an easy motion, topping out at 90 mph on the stadium radar gun. Signed by the Expos as nondrafted free agent in 1998, his minor league record of 9-14 with an ERA of 4.41 was not too impressive until this year. An All Star selection in the Carolina League for Potomac (he made his second start for Harrisburg tonight) he started 14 games with good results, 3-4 2.46 ERA.

Danny Rueckel working in relief for the Senators took the loss and his record goes to 4-5

Ryan Zimmerman belted a double to right. Before the game I asked Ryan if he could play shortstop. He replied that he would play wherever they told him too. When my wife told him that the Nats needed someone who could hit at short he told her that he thought Guzman was a good shortstop.

Zimmerman is tall and lanky. My wife and I were impressed by his demeanor and bearing when he came over to sign autogarphs.

Ryan showed good athletic form on the base paths legging out a double on a solid drive to right field. He made a great play on a bunt despite poor field conditions displaying a strong arm. Baseball America ranked Ryan pretty high regarding his fielding ability and Nats fans look to have a gold glover at third for years to come. While he may project to be a 20+ HR player he has a quick bat and spanks line drives.

John Wilson (age 26) is the batting star of the game. He had two hits (one
HR) in four at bats. Listed at 6-01 210 he looks more like a middle infielder then a catcher. He was selected by Mets in 11th round of 2000 draft; taken by Expos in 2003 Rule 5 minor league draft. Good minor league hitter, batting .260 in 5 minor league seasons. SA .354 OBP .351 with 15 HRs in 1,185 at bats. Fourth season in AA ball. This year in 33 games he is having a good year; .303 2 14

The rest of the catching for Harrisburg is spotty, featuring two good field no hit players.

Drew McMillian, (age 24 6-03 205) was selected by the Expos in the 3rd round of the 1999 draft. Currently on the DL he has a lifetime .186 average in minors with 20 HRs in 1,298 at bats. SA .267 OBP .258. This year; 19 games (.255-1-7).

John Emmerick, (age 24 6-04 190) was picked by the Expos in 17th round of
1999 draft. 752 at bats with a BA of .205. SA .267 OBP .304 with 7 HRs. This
year: 26 games (.160 0 2)

Dan DeMent the small Carlosesque first baseman (5-10 170 lbs) is the hitting star for Harrisburg this season. Signed as nondrafted free agent by Devil Rays in 2000 he was a Rule 5 pick up in 2004 for the Expos. A career .264 hitter he is batting over .330 (.310-3-15).

For those who follow these things Nats hats far outnumbered Oriole hats.

Thx..fro your report.

Zimmerman hasn't started at 3b because Norris was playing 3b he pinch hit and he did quite well.

He doesn't seem to have great power...but he can hit the ball that's for sure...he has to show consistency,It;s hard for him, he has jumped from the south athlantic league to the AA one. He's one of the youngest player on his team if not the youngest.Id just like him to hit more HR's
He had a great game tho'.

.It's great to see that his kid is great defensively!
