Why intentionally walk just to get to the pitcher if you only have 1 out?

yep, especially with us taking fastballs down the middle and swinging at every change-up he throws in the dirt.

To tell you the truth, not many people would be able to hit those fastballs the way he is throwing right now, Nats or other teams...

why didn't Nick try to turn a double play there?
It looked like to me that the ball took NJ too far from the base to get back and the second baseman was positioned too far up the middle to get over to cover in time.

a lot of those fastballs he is throwing are unhittable, especially when the umpire calls them right on the inside corner to right-handed batters. not a strike

definitely, they will get some runs off him soon enough. especially with our offense rolling over like dogs.

yep, that is the benefit of being an all-star pitcher in this league.  He is attacking each of our hitters perfectly to their weaknesses.  Not to mention, most of these fastballs are nearly impossible to get the bat around on.  Hopefully, we can get lucky on one of his mistakes, if he makes one....

You're kidding, right?  That's the best time to do that so you can set-up the DP.  It nearly worked in textbook fashion too, but Santana can run faster than most pitchers.

Well, there is Dukes first major mistake on a night when we couldn't afford any.

Olsen is just way too hittable. He makes far too many mistakes leaving pitches over the plate.

It is the right thing to do if you have a solid defense behind the pitcher, but I wouldn't say that about our D based off of the games so far this season.  IMO, it was a very risky move, especially considering Santana's bat.

I'm new.  With our middle infield and pitching, I thought it would be risky to load the bases with one out.

well, it could be worse. The Mutts should have 3-4+ runs by now.

olsen doesn't look sharp but is pitching out of jams.  dukes has to just let that go for a bloop single.  thanks elijah.

Milledge got picked off at first and got thrown out at second trying to extend a single into a double. :?

Burgess will probably have another 2 this week and then he will go cold for the next three weeks.  That is how it has always been with him, very streaky.

on the bright side, johan is at 59 pitches through 3.1... at that rate, he would go like 6.
