2009 NFL Playoff Pick 'Em (Wild Card Weekend)
« Topic Start: January 03, 2010, 10:54:10 PM »
Well, I've come back from the dead to bring you the annual WNFF NFL Playoff Predictions Thread.

Game                    Time         Network
Jets @ Bengals          4:30 Sat     NBC
Eagles @ Cowboys        8:00 Sat     NBC
Ravens @ Patriots       1:00 Sun     CBS
Packers @ Cardinals     4:00 Sun     FOX

Take your picks!

Jets over Bengals
Eagles over Cowboys
Patriots over Ravens
Packers over Cardinals

Gotta stick with my pre-season SuperBowl pick...

Super Bowl Participants: Patriots, Packers
Winner: Packers
-I know, I know.  GTFOWTBS.  Seriously, I believe in the cheeseheads this year.  Aaron Rodgers is a good, nay, great quarterback, and I believe he can lead a team to a championship.  People are quick to pull out the stat that the Pack lost a million games last year by 4 or less points.  I'll be quick to pass the buck on that to the Packers running game (see Grant, Ryan) sucking last year.  I believe that will change, giving the Pack a much more balanced attack.  Buy low on Green Bay this year.

Rules:
-Each round is weighted: each correct prediction will earn the corresponding amount of points for that round.
-1st round = 1 point, 2nd round = 2 pts, AFC/NFC Championships = 3 pts, SuperBowl, 4 pts
-Picks are locked in at the beginning of each game individually.

FYI guys we already beat the Ravens at home once. Granted, Welker's out, but I think Edelman will have a big day, especially since the Ravens secondary is nothing to write home about (Reed is good, but he's having a down year and whichever one of you is a Ravens fan can agree on that, forget who it is though)

Bengals bounce back to beat the Jets, Sanchez will fold against that defense and Palmer and crew are angry.
Cowboys will beat the Eagles at home (the Cowboys have to win at least one more playoff game this century)
Ravens will crush the Patriots with Welker gone
Arizona will stun Green Bay

I'm picking the Chargers vs. Cowboys in the SB, but I wouldn't be surprised to see AZ shock the world a 2nd time and go to Miami.

Wouldn't you love to be in the Snyder household if Norv gets to hoist the trophy?

Hey, we're not getting crushed at home... we went undefeated at home this year! It'll be a close game either way.

I think you're referring to me. Reed has been hurt for alot of the season. I honestly think he's a liability at this point. Tom Zbikowski was solid in relief of Reed for the three games that Reed missed. Reed started yesterday against Oakland and didn't look good at all. I would rather have Zibby back there than an injured and ineffective Reed.

I think the Patriots will be able to pass on the Ravens, but Flacco should have a big day also. He threw for more yards and TD's than Brady in their first matchup this season. The problem is that he threw 47 passes. They need to cut back on that and pound NE with the Run, which can be done. Ray Rice had 104 yards rushing against the Pats in that first meeting, while the Pats only had 85 total yards rushing as a team.

If Mark Clayton didn't drop that perfectly thrown pass at the 2 with just under a minute left..the Ravens would have a first and goal at the end of the game with about 40 some seconds left. That doesn't really matter though..cause a loss is a loss. This one will go down to the wire like the last one and should be a good game. I worried that Moss will hurt the Ravens. He didn't exactly have a great game the last they played. He had something like 50 yards and a TD. I'll take that anyday when you're playing against Moss.

It should be fun. Also..what's the weather supposed to be like up there? I'm hearing that it might snow.
