I read it and did not see anything about kids throwing breaking pitches or changeups. Did I miss that part?

it seems most of the focus now is on the damage done by trying to throw hard, the old CW that curve balls damaged elbows seems to have gone out the window.

I'm going with decreased quality in diet, more processed and fast foods, not enough fruit and vegetables. Food and other chemical additives and decreased water quality. And yes PED and even legal supplements too. The other youth league abuses too.  Winter ball has been around a long time though. I remember major leaguer's doing that in the 60's

That's his second TJS, right?

That's what I meant. He was coming back from his second TJS.

Barves are great at ruining young pitchers.

Atlanta seriously needs to reevaluate how it handles injured pitchers. Beachy, Medlen, and Venters all needing repeat TJ in the span of a season? That's no random coincidence.

Can I suggest Venters finds another line of work other than pitching a baseball after his third TJS?

Maybe these posts about Venters and all the repeat TJs for the Barves should be moved to the Knights Templar / D-bag thread because they are doing things the right way?

I guess Venters, Medlen, and Beachy weren't gutty and confident enough to recover properly.

Who thinks the 2012 shutdown was a bad idea now? Nobody!

Nice, where'd you find that Slate?

SBnation. I find it very telling. I think it's pretty obvious that the Braves don't groom their pitchers for the future, mainly because they have no intention of keeping them long term.

is that surgeries while with the team or is that guys who have had it in the past that are in the system?

Don Cooper or the White Sox medical staff ought to explain what they are doing to save a lot of injuries.  For the med staff, it is almost like a drug trial that goes so well you need to end it early and spread the results.

looks like the Nats have 13 in the system.  How many can you name off the top of your head?  Strasburg, JZ, Giolito, Solis, Mattheus (but that was before), Garcia is gone, Meyers is gone, ...
