This bakery is right by my office. Got one, and also a Werth cake pop.

No, but at $5 each I did have 10 co-workers request a cupcake!

Truth be told, Houston wrote nice article on Werth as the end of the White Whale that he's trying to get published.  Good piece of writing and analysis but too long for an OP here.

Great tune "welch".     BTW   Your Mazeroski analogy the other day was spot on last night.   Everything was different but it was the same.

Mitlen were you the Nats/Sens fan from Pittsburgh interview in a Silver Spring Patch.com piece today?

Nah, I'm on the other side of the river.    But I did 'cause a broohahah when I donned Steelers' knit hat at the game last night.   :P

Yesterday was yesterday and today is today, if the albatross strikes out to start the game I'm booing his ass.

I don't see what's so bad about that quote.  Zimmerman just seems to be saying that, look, while Werth is not the warm and fuzzy type of player that a lot of fans want to root for, he's worth appreciating because he has a record of coming up big at big moments.  I saw an amazing statistic on MLB network last night.  Werth has the second most career post-season home runs (14) in something like 43 games (among active players, I think).  The only guy ahead of him has 17 in over 70 postseason games.  That's pretty impressive.

While Werth is prickly, he has gone out of his way several times to thank and applaud the fans, so I'm not sure why his personality was ever made an issue (other than the fact that people hated his performance last year so were looking for anything to criticize.

BTW, interesting he was able to drive that ball so hard with his wrist.

Anyway, dude came up huge, and the Nats paid him a lot of money to be that veteran, clutch presence. Let's hope that his hit got our offense over the hump and they all show up today.

I'm not sure what other walkups Werth uses, but I know this one will get a huge response tonight;

My wife and son met him at potomac when he was rehabbing. He signed lots of autographs and was very friendly.

Werth seems to really be into a crowd. He's always thanking fans, complimenting big crowds... last night he couldn't take his eyes off the packed house during his post-game interview.
