Pudge has been an offensive black hole for 5 years and only looked good calling games this year due to Wil being the other catcher.

Throwin' this out.   Why isn't Ramos playing?

Victorino stealing in a 6-1 game? Thats why Nyger's steals were fine by me against the Marlin's.

If no one is fired after this game (which LOTS of people should be), someone should, at least, be thrown under the bus.  That first inning was somebody's fault, for a number of reasons.

It should be jason marquis he was awful in the 1st and put us in the hole.

Because Riggleman should be fired.

I hate to agree with someone who has me on ignore (and who is as contemptible as they come), he wasn't alone in his sucking.  There was much sucking to go around.

Even though I was on Marquis' ass about the early inning, ultimately it's Riggs.   The fish stinks from the head,

Got to disagree with ya! What he has done for these young guys can't be measured. To know Pudge is behind the plate means a heck of a lot. Just look how well the bullpen has done with Pudge behind the plate. Thats how I look at it.

When you have Pudge hitting 6th, you know your team sucks.
When you have Kevin Mench on your team, you know your team sucks.

I hate the Phillies.... but the Phillies Graham Slam ice cream from Turkey Hill that is in the ad on MLB game day sounds delicious.

Supposedly going to rotate days with Pudge.

He's genuinely been a plus defensive catcher with his arm this year, but he has had a reputation for not calling games well since he first came up to the majors.  Either way, I don't think it had as big an impact on this particular game as Ray and Bob's rants would have you believe.  The defense was positioned really badly though.

I'd like to see more Ramos (even though I think Pudge is a plus).

Another thing that's going to suck, after this game the talking heads are going to talk about what a "gem" Oswalt pitched tonight.   >:(

LOL.  Take a look at the 1st inning tonight as exhibit A.  Exclusively setting up away on LHBs while the bench has the defense in a deep pull shift.  Either he needs to yell at the bench to change it up or he has to pretend he isn't blind and adjust his calls to the freaking defense.  There's absolutely no excuse for the way Pudge refuses to change things up even when they aren't working.

Ramos needs to be up for awhile because he really needs to improve his batting eye... if he keeps striking out as much as he has his bat will negate a lot of his value.

Marquis was missing his target anyway like half the time.

this game is the inverse of Oswalt's start at Nats park after the trade.

And it's the catcher's job to not call every freaking pitch to LHBs away when he sees the defense shifted for the pull.  Either call the manager out to the mound to change it or call pitches that don't intentionally nullify the defensive setup.  No excuse for Sludge tonight.

There's something about Debi that is .. the boss is sitting next to me watching the game and she says ... " ... her nose is long, has a large mouth, her eyes are close together on a very narrow head ...  and her presentation is typical."

If the six runs in the first inning were the result of Pudge calling the wrong pitches, then why did they pull Marquis?

The BB he hit the glove on all 4 called balls.  It does no good to hit exactly where the catcher is set up if the catcher is setting up out of the strike zone.
