Interesting.  Of course, you can't declare your intention of hitting a fly ball with a runner on third either, so by that logic there should be no sacrifice flies.

I don't make the rules, it's just the way the play is scored. If you fly out and a run scores, it's a sac fly. If you fly out and they move up a base, it's an out.

I don't get it either.
