Was that a day where the crowd was suppose to show up in some sort of costume ?

Everyone remember Zach Day?

Nah, that was Sack Day.   I always liked Rack Day.

And as for the LF list, allow me to add:

Robert Fick

Oh, yes.  Robert Fick, who the Nationals braintrust somehow felt was worthy of sending to the plate 362 times during his time here.

Junior Spivey

Spivey suffered an injury during batting practice while hitting off a Tee.

Nats first opening day line-up:

1. Brad Wilkerson CF
2. Cristian Guzman 2B
3. Jose Vidro 2B
4. Jose Guillen RF
5. Nick Johnson 1B
6. Vinny Castilla 3B
7. Terrmel Sledge LF
8. Brian Schneider C
9. Livan Hernandez RHP

that was actually a decent lineup.

The best thing about those days is that we weren't separated by categories like SSS and LoD.  Everyone knew the team sucked, and you just went in the GDT to nag about them.

True. Those Gameday threads were the best.

Since we're getting all nostalgic, someone should find AZ and bring him back for a day. Hell, Dukes might actually spend the night with him if the money is right. Child support ain't cheap!

The guy who was a career minor leaguer and was brought up for one game and had a hit and was given a standing ovation. Went on to play in Japan. Was his name Short?
Quite short.  Only 5 letters.  not as short as Ott.

  • Ryan Church got shafted a bunch of times. He should've played way more during his time here.
  • Jerome Williams almost had a no hitter
  • We had 7+ starting pitchers in 2007 and all of them were awful
  • Austin Kearns was considered a big signing

Does anyone know where one might be able to find an archive of post-game pressers with Manny Acta?

Humiliating. Still haven't shook that. Some guy near me at Wrigley kept referring to the "Lowly Natinals".

I kind of liked having Zimmerman and Dunn at 3-4 in the lineup.
