Interesting. I didn't realize his name was Bryce Aron Max Harper. Makes the nickname BAM BAM even better.

Bryce just announced the Golden Spikes Award winner, Mike Zunino, catcher, drafted by Seattle.

He's a year and a half older than Bryce.

Too bad his last name isn't Franklin.

He still gets 2 days after the game at least.

Yep

It's fine, he'll only play a couple of innings at the ASG anyway. I'm sure it will be a thrill for him.

Harper named to ASG
Davey just said that Tony LaRussa picked Bryce Harper to replace Miami's
Giancarlo "Name Changer" Stanton.

(Marquis DeSade will now set himself on fire.  R.I.P.)

PREDICTION:   will rob Mike Trout of a homer in the All Star game!

At age 19, Bryce is the youngest position player ever named to an All Star Game, as reported by Johnny Holliday.

I vote LaRussa never puts Harper in unless its a blowout. Yes, he picked him. But Harper is 19, and i could see them leaving him on the bench or solely as a defensive replacement just because he is so young. I will be very surprised if he gets an AB.

I don't understand the animosity between Harper and trout fanboys, it's rather sickening and sad.

I really like and respect trouts game, I must admit at times I check his stats out and hope Bryce can do similar but they are two different players and we are blessed to have one of them.

And those people saying trout is flat out better than Bryce fail to realize the age difference, and just how raw trout looked at 19

Mike Trout, at 19, was demoted back to the minors.

So, wait, now 4 of the 5 players on the NL final vote are in the game?  What was the point of that again?
