and we have no alternatives in AAA really.

Impossible. We have a strong farm system.

holy crap. it's time to shut down Lannan for the rest of the season.

he has been atrocious for a good month now.

He threw 180+ innings last season. He should be able to go 200 innings this season. How in the hell can you even suggest that when you argued about how good he is and talked crap when his ERA was below 3.5?

we have guys who could conceivably pitch in the Majors but I'd hate to rush them. and there is no reason to expose those guys to this type of losing.

Brad Meyers with another great outing in AA: 6 IP 4 H 1 ER 0 BB 4 K.  2.10 ERA since the promotion.

Would JJ Hardy be worth trying to acquire, he is only 26?

something is not right with him right now. don't want to force the issue in this disastrous season.

he's pumped to be in AA :az:

I bet Norris would be sparked too with a call-up. he's bored in Hagerstown and is getting pitched around a ton.

That's funny, when PANatsFan suggested the same for Beimel you joined me in ripping him for being a moron. But Lannan is a member of your clique so I guess you'll go to all lengths to protect him.

Remember about 3 or 4 weeks ago when we were saying that his speed on the gun suddenly went from 89 to 87.  He hasn't been the same since, got to think McCatty had to see it.

It's all good though, Lannan is still a better man than hammonds will ever be. Even on a night like tonight.

Have you watched Lannan lately? His velocity is down a few ticks and he is getting no downward movement on his fastball.
Leaving the ball up too frequently too.

I'll let Lannan speak for himself after the game. If he just owns up to pitching like crap and says he is not injured or anything I will shelve the "something is not right" excuse.

whatever. He can continue to work on his defense in Potomac and play in a playoff chase.

Brad freaking Meyers with the complete game in Harrisburg.

7 IP 4 H 1 ER 0 BB 6 K.

3-0 with a 2.03 ERA since being promoted.

He is a shoe-in for Nationals Minor League pitcher of the year. 9-2 with a 1.58 ERA between Potomac and Harrisburg.
