They said one week after the season is over, so hopefully before next weekend.  I'm struggling to figure out why they couldn't have had this done Saturday morning and also why they are still holding on to my money for the wild card and tie breaker games.

I hope so too. I'm going up to college for homecoming next weekend and could use that money for spending.

If any season ticket holder has a team-issued card stock world series ticket they'd like to sell, please PM me.  I'd like to get one for my Dad.

Thanks

Another few days of interest spread across thousands of tickets,  some selling for hundreds- all told maybe it funds a lunch at the Palm for Lerner and Boras

They would make more on the non refundable "convenience fees" at $6 a pop

But that is what companies do, maximize capital and them maximize return on that capital, every little bit adds up.

Fire sale on at the team store.

The playoff and division champ hats and shirts are pretty much all $10.

The playoff hoodies ($70 retail -$90 team store) are going for $20.

Other playoff crap is pretty much $5 flat.

Picked up a couple of extras.

Cheap bastards.

$20 for a hoodie ain't bad.

Here is our Mayor commenting on Davey's decision making.  (This is the same mayor who had a slush fund finance most of his campaign and even paid for a sham candidate to run for mayor strictly to attack ex-Mayor Fenty.)

Quote from: Mayor_Gray
Frankly, it was interesting, and I include myself in this, to watch the emotion. I was actually at the stage of trying to figure out how I was going to get down on the field. I just felt we were going to win. And then they started to put people on base, and then [closer Drew Storen] couldn’t get ‘em out; he was walking people. And then, when it’s tied up, I said, “You know what, we got the top of the lineup coming up in the bottom of the ninth, so maybe we can score a run maybe like we did the night before.” Then the guy gets the hit, and we’re down by two. And it was really deflating. You could see the team was deflated when they came up to the plate. The top of the lineup did nothing.

Now here is our real mayor, Mayor for Life Marion Barry finding out the results of the Nats game, I swear I had to read this three times to figure out that it wasn't a satire piece.  Gotta say his prayers were answered though.

Quote
Me: “Mr. Mayor, I was just hoping you could give some voice to our civic anguish and perhaps help us all deal with … “
Gray: “The agony.”
Barry: “What’s the agony?”
Gray: “We lost.”
Barry: “We lost?”
Gray: “We’re gone. Not only did we lose, Marion, but it went down to the last strike.”
Barry: “We’re out of it?”
Gray: “We were up by two runs with one strike to go. One strike!”
Barry: “Ain’t that a [expletive].”
Gray: “We’re gone, man. The Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning. … We were up 6-0 and lost.”
Barry: “I don’t like baseball that much. … I’m praying for RG3.”
Gray: “I love baseball.”

So Marion Barry cares more about a team that plays out in the 'burbs.  Makes sense.
