I hate Chrome's UI too, especially the default blue one.  I've got a graphite theme I don't mind as much.  I do like things like the highlight functionality where you can highlight something and either google search or go to the address, depending on what you highlighted, from the context menu.

OneNote may be the finest piece of software I've seen in a long time. If you are making a list, press tab twice, and BAM, it builds you a table, automatically sizing the columns. It's like I can translate from my brain to a page that autosaves and indexes for search while only using the keyboard. It's really stunningly useful.

Unfortunately, IE10 won't be out for a year or so.   :P

So, I put together an excel spreadsheet for march madness and which games are being broadcast during the day on Thurs and Fri.  Is there some way to insert a script to show where we are in the day and which games should be current?

Have you ever written an VB for Applications macro?

Given the lack of noscript and especially adblock, it's doubtful I'll ever use IE9 unless I'm stuck using a computer that doesn't have anything else installed.

The "nobody uses chrome" effect + Spy Sweeper is good enough for me.

Spy Sweeper

:spit:

Chrome's sandboxing would be sufficient protection from anything but a trojan, I would think.  And Chrome at least has an adblock equivalent, but every time I try to give it a shot as my primary browser, I get tired of struggling with the awful UI after about 15 minutes and go back to Firefox.  Shame really, since Chrome - the program itself - is quite excellently done, and very fast (although not much difference with the new version of Firefox now, not sure about IE9)

In Firefox, how can I configure it to open 2/3 tabs when I start Firefox? Not tabs from last time, but the same 2 tabs everytime like I can in Chrome?

Just an aside - if you develop software, in particular health care software, don't marry it to IE and please, please, please, please, please don't use make it modal.  Thank you.

Are you talking about tab pinning?  If so, I believe you'll need the latest and greatest for that:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/RC/

Works pretty much the same way it does in Chrome.

Seriously, if I see one more Windows 3.1 modal EMR selling itself as "bleeding edge" I'm going to scream.

I downloaded v4 last week but couldn't get it now I see. You have to pin them as "app tabs". Seems silly. It works but I still like Chrome's better and I like Chrome's "most visited tab" if you hit the "+" button.

Thanks Chief

It's the exact same functionality and actions, the only difference is literally "pin tab" vs "pin as app tab"

There's an add-on for Firefox (or several, probably) that duplicate Chrome's new tab page functionality very well.

I don't have anything "pinned" in Chrome. I just have it set to "open" the same two pages in tabs every time I start the browser up.

Plus, when you "pin them as apps" in Firefox it shrinks the tab which blows.

It does the same thing in Chrome.  And I know what you're talking about now, and yes you can do the same thing in Firefox, with (I thought) pretty much the same method.  Let me see...
