nice leaps of logic, maybe according to the letter of the rule it was the three days

i meant there is some legitimate doubt based on the comments in the quote from the ESPN story.  Sorry, i wasn't clear.

I don't trust espn on this- they broadcast games and braun has appeared on sports center commercials- if a non-interested orginization reports there is legitimate doubt, then I'll be more likely to buy it.

I don't have a problem with ruling him not guilty based on the chain of custody... but I would like to know if he did it or not.

i saw Braun's press conference highlights earlier, after seeing his hair and that weird jacket he had on, i'm now convinced of his guilt.

OMG, I was about to come in here and post the same thing! Christ, it just screamed, "I'M A COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE DICK, I DID IT AND GOT AWAY WITH IT!"

The only thing I can compare it to?

I wonder what the fan reception to Braun at Miller park will be.

I'm sure they'll still cheer him on, much like Giant fans did when Bonds played in San Fran.

from everything i've read in the last few days there is no question that the sample was properly sealed, and that storing it over the weekend had no impact on the results of the test.

Braun got off on a technicality.  Whether he violated PED rules doesn't seem to be in question.

Without technicalities we'd be a prison nation.

What we haven't heard is why he didn't drop off the sample first thing on Monday morning. If he has been a piss-boy for 6 years he should know that the chain of custody would be attacked if there was a positive result.

He said he dropped it off Monday for Tuesday delivery.  Dropping it off earlier on a Monday just means it's sitting around a Fedex office half the way waiting for the pickup.  I don't see how that strengthens a chain of custody.

Policies and procedures.  Still, dropping it off at 6am doesn't really matter.  The real question is why something so important is done by such a Mickey Mouse organization.  If these guys weren't the Keystone Kops they would have held the FedEx plane for them.  I'm surprised they didn't given the financial impact of a positive test and suspension or the damage to the system of a situation like this.

I agree, why don't they have a lab pick it up and forward it to the testing facility.

I like labs, but don't you think the doggie slobber would mess up the test?

Did Braun win?

Would he have won anyway if it were dropped off early Monday morning?

Your move, Braun.

Braun doesn't have to do anything.  He's already been cleared.

He's been cleared of violating MLBs guidelines, as far as legacy goes, he's pretty clearly a juicer under stricter Olympic standards

But he's not playing under Olympic rules.  He's scott free as he's concerned.  Everything else is trivial at this point unless there's some sort of appeal he'll have to worry about.

I don't think so. He won on a split decision were the time it took to deliver the sample to the carrier was crucial to their defene
