DC is set for it's first snow of more than 2" in nearly 1050 days.

Wxrisk's projection:

It'll be very icy.    Be careful.

Whatever melted today will freeze tonight. Be sure not to kiss your own butt.

Yikes. Went out to scrape my car. No way in hell I'm riding on that. Frankly, I'm hoping the government goes two hour delay again :D

we were in the 4-8" zone and got about 3", so he wasn't that far off.

he did nail the ice storm about a week before the other weather outlets caught on.

I "rode" the CCT a few years ago when it had an inch of ice on it...it took about 3 hours to get to the towpath where I bailed and carried my bike.

???? they were WAY off on Arlington, 3" might have fallen from the sky but it was pretty well gone by the evening, heck there was less snow out there Wednesday morning than there was out there Monday morning, another blown call.
Waste of a perfectly good snow day, and a days worth of leave.

I'll bet it's deadly, and will get a whole lot worse over the next couple of hours.

It's gonna be cold and even if it's close to 32, you know there are a lot of spots that get no sun during the day.    Ain't worth the risk.

The Crescent was fine today, though the bridges were still iced over (I rode over them, but nearly kissed my own ass...will get off and walk the bike next time).  Some other small icy patches in the shade, but nothing major.

I thought you guys were all about tactics...riding a bike across an ice-covered bridge doesn't have a lot of upside unless you are on 'Jackass'

No, we just beat people to  death with their own weapons. True story.

Anyway, my phone is telling me there is a 50% chance of snow/wintery mix. Anyone else get that?
