Yeah, new 2 year activation required. And we just got a new phone 3 weeks ago. Sigh...

In some cases, it ends up being a better deal to pay the etf and get the discounted phone - great system

amazon has all non-iPhone phones on sale for a penny.   That's all phones, every single phone.  Want a 4G droid that normally costs $799 - it's $.01 through Monday.

That's one heck of a deal, my wife just might be upgrading to a Rezound this weekend.

Wow. I did not expect $90 for Adobe LightRoom 3. Granted I went with NewEgg at $100.

EDIT: Dead but NewEgg is still going.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Quote
(AP)  LOS ANGELES — A woman shot pepper spray to keep shoppers from merchandise she wanted during a Black Friday sale, and 20 people suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:20 p.m. Thursday in a crowded Los Angeles-area Walmart as shoppers hungry for deals were let inside the store.

Police said the suspect shot the pepper spray when the coverings over the items she wanted were removed.

"Somehow she was trying to use it to gain an upper hand," police Lt. Abel Parga told The Associated Press early Friday.

He said she was apparently after some electronics and used the pepper spray to keep other shoppers at bay.

Officials said 20 people suffered minor injuries. Fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske said the injuries to least 10 of them were due to " rapid crowd movement."

Parga said police were still looking for the woman.

The store remained open and those not affected by the pepper spray continued shopping.

How does that work?  Both my mom and my wife have had their phones for several years, are they eligible for the deal or would they have to pay the renewal price?

I think it only works for a new line- i.e. switching from verizon to att, my guess is amazon gets kick backs for new customers allowing them to sell for a penny

Quick advice on a GPS.  The most important feature I'd be looking for in a GPS is real time traffic avoidance and rerouting.  I drive through New Jersey and Southern CT, so being able to pick my way around backups intelligently would be a huge time and frustration saver.  When to pop off I 95, the Merritt Parkway, NJTP v. I 295 to Rte 1, etc... would be great.  I get frustrated a bit

Are the Magellan systems through AAA good at this?  Do I need to spring for a Garmin (even though I hate Jonathan Vaughters)? Are Tom Toms good?  Best buy has Magellan 2136 for $99 on-line, with traffic.

It should work for anyone signing a new 2 year contract.  That is, if your contract is past the 2 year mark, you can re-up for another 2 year contract and get the discounted prices.  At least that's how I thought it worked.  I'm not sure about how amazon works, but that's how it works for AT&T.  Had my first iPhone for 2 years, got the new one at the "new customer" price.

Just an FYI if you didn't know, but you can go back and edit your original topic to change the title.
