To be fair LaRoche's career norm in the 2nd half is great.  .295/.354/.535.

Yes, but his first half is usually awful. We're in uncharted territory with Adam LaRoche. He's off to a great start. Never really been done before.

Nah, I'd rather stick with real data.  We can evaluate May and April + May when June comes around.

Unless someone is volunteering to go through BR 16 teams x 8 years every day getting "RS through X games" data ;)

Nathan will.

in 2007 the team OPS'd .647 in April and .686 in May. wow

You may not want to look at this year's April OPS

Instead of making a trade for offense, Mike Rizzo is hoping that players like Nady and Bernadina can step up during Werth's absence. #Nats

Translation: we have no depth to offer as a trade.

haha you can probably kiss playoffs goodbye.  unless there's a miracle and nady/bernadina perform above their expected play and morse can come back 100% healthy.  need outside help.

I'll give it a whirl now that I've figured out this other pain in the azz problem I was working on.

Yeah right.  With our luck he'd break his leg at the announcement ceremony, or worse, be be healthy all year with a .650 OPS.

I'd make a move to try to get Wilingham back. Once you have Morse back, you would have Harper, Wilingham and Morse in the outfield.

General offense comment: Right now we're batting a guy 5th who is a worse hitter than half of our pitchers.

I'm guessing he's probably a better hitter than any of our pitchers.

But you never know. Maybe they're all playing the wrong position.

He's not a better hitter than any of our pitchers at the current moment in time. He can't hit anything right now and zero power when he does make contact.

We need to sign Josh Hamilton this offseason.

They'll leak that there's "interest" and that there was a "competitive market value offer" and then he'll sign somewhere else and the Lerner shills will cite it as proof that the Lerners aren't cheap.

Edwin Jackson is 2 for 2 tonight, batting .308 for the year.
Both Strasburg and Gonzales  are good batter.
Our pitchers hit better than our position players !

We need to sign Josh Hamilton this offseason.

Only way this happens if if we deal LaRoche and put Morse at first, thus opening up a spot in the outfield for Hamilton.  Werth's contract is too big for him just to sit on the bench, sadly.

LaRoche has an option, we can pay him a million to leave.

Or let LaRoche walk at the end of the year.

Hamilton, Harper, Werth

Interesting outfield. Means we could trade some of our outfield prospects for a middle infielder who can actually hit leadoff
