Unfortunately we are well below league average in the most important offensive category - runs per game.
wOBA too.  I think a big part of the problem is our bench, which flat-out sucks and is full of replacement-level players.

Well, our SS position has scored 73 runs.  The MLB average for the SS position is 72.  NL average is 73.  AL average is 70.  AL shortstops suck, obviously.

Anyone on the team that's more fun to watch at the plate than Zim? No way.

That is unsustainable unless clutch hitting is more significant that I give it credit for.
There is no indication that this offense is average or will be one next year barring a major change. None of the stats show the Nats being average.

Assuming they hold on, hopefully now that the pressure of avoiding a 100 loss season again is gone, they can relax and play some ball to finish out the year.

I think we have to bring back Kennedy.

agreed, assuming he accepts a bench role.  He's proved himself a capable defensive player with a decent bat.

I think they're spending what they've saved up from the past week.

Thank goodness this wasn't a save situation... I don't have much faith in Drew right now.

I disagree.  An average offensive can be constructed with a lineup consisting (largely) of these players.  Average shouldn't be/isn't that difficult.

She has that effect...

9th   C Johnson homered to center.

Astronauts  4
Nationals    8

I picked up Johnson on my fantasy team.  MONEY.

Call it what you want but I'd be really surprised if we didn't lead baseball or close to it in LOB for the last 3 seasons.

So when the game is well in hand, then you pull Storen? Riggleman is a nutcase.

What's the point in taking Storen out, now?
