Because he's outspoken and young. He can come off like a self entitled prick. Couple that with an amazing amount of talent and such a young age and people will want to hate him

He comes off like that because the media makes him out to be one. I don't know him personally I'm not going to make any judgement on his character.

If it's not too early to start discerning a pattern, I'd say he tends to start slowly no matter where he's at.

Took a few slow weeks at A, took a slow month or so at Harrisburg, now starting slowly in Arizona.

I'm pretty well certain that when he gets called up next September, he will finish with .095/.230/.360 at the end of the month and the entire national sports media will write him off as "The Biggest Bust of All Time" with attended hah-hah fanfares and I-told-you-sos from people who did not at all tell us so. And then in 2013, after that hellish September, he'll roar back to the tune of .280/.350/.510 and everyone will wipe the crap-eating grins off their faces and eat crow instead.

He just came off injuries.  He wasn't even able to be in the playoffs for his team.  Like the Terminator:

HE'LL BE BACK!

ouch, Harper is really getting owned. I can't believe all of those fools who said he was ready to be in the Majors next year. He'll be fine but he needs much more time in the Minors. May be ready by 2013.

He will be in the majors next year. Not going to change my mind based on 14 ABs.

If he doesn't tear up the minors to start the year, he'll be a September call-up at the very least imo.

I also think he needs a good spring. We will see him at some point next year. It's a question of when.

Harper gets his first RBI!  He's 0-2 in the 6th.  The RBI came on a passed ball of all things.

The MLB box score had him an RBI.  He got a hit in the 6th and stole a base as well

Then I pronounce him ready for a June call up.

What? If the LoD says he won't be called up because he went 0-14 then the Sunshine Squad says he's ready after one hit and a SB. :mg:

Harper: 1-3, RBI, BB, SB - no strikeouts

Walters: 0-4, 1K

I imagine Purke will be pitching soon.

He arrives in AZ today.  They should have him in a game by the end of the week.

So pretty much a normal game for Norris :P

Harper finished 1-4, with a single.  Raised his average to .087.

How long before we DFA him?  :mg:
