As much as I think he sucks, Davey seems to use him as the only true LOOGY from time to time.

The bigger question is whether Davey comes back.

I hope Davey returns. I recognize his age and the energy it takes to manage a ball team, but Davey is special.

He's got a lot of energy for a 69 year old! But if he retired I'd understand.

We see again: it was smart to pick up Suzuki.

Carlos Lee is a good hitter.

Michael Gonzalez blows.  Sign a real lefty this offseason, Rizzo!

Fredi Gonzalez is managing with a sense of urgency that Davey is nowhere near.  He used Kimbrel in the 9th in a tie game so he's probably unavailable if/when the Braves take the lead but he didn't leave his closer in the bullpen, waiting to get a lead. That's the kind of desperation you should manage with in September.

Davey did that with Clippard not two nights ago in the 10th inning.  What's the difference?

This team needs to pick it up soon, Braves won't falter.

Don't lower your sights to the way behind Braves.  The Nats need to stay ahead of the Reds.

Ah, so Davey should have brought his nonexistent stud closer in during the ninth inning when the game was tied.

Oh wait, he brought in Storen, who's pretty damn good.  Ridiculous criticism of Davey, who's not the problem.  There isn't a problem.

The Braves are on the road.  If the Braves take the lead, there will have to be a bottom of the inning. Someone else with have to pitch for the Braves.  That's not the case with using Clippard the way Davey did.

B Parnell walks the bases loaded, 1 out. Not much help from the Metsies
