Phillies are worthless. At least they're delusional, waste money, and will continue to be non-factors this decade.

Yep. I've been thinking that it amounts to a trade of Willingham for Corey Brown. If Brown hits, then not such a big loss.

In the tiny sample size I've seen, he reminds me of Curtis Granderson.

It gets better. Get good grades, practice interviewing, get a good job and waste big bucks on Nats stuff.

Living the dream.

I'd love that. Blue hat, block white W on the road unis.  Blue hat, interlocking DC on the homes.  Probably too late to change the name to Grays because of brand investment, but you could make these the unis and just have "Nats" in place of Grays. And I love th font on both the front and the number.

Senators.

First pro team in Washington was the Nationals. Some time in the 1880's people began to call the team the Senators. The AL team was called the Senators until owners changed the name to Nationals about 1905. Officially Nationals until Calvin Griffith changed the name to Senators in about 1956...one story says that ownership thought it would change fans perception of the team, back in 1905, if they changed the name.

Best I remember, "Senators" was the most popular name for the 2005 team. MLB felt it more appropriate to pick "Nationals".

I think it was because Texas still owns the copyrights to Senators for MLB, so Teddy would have had to have bought it from the Rangers.  Nationals has the historic roots you point out, without the copyright complications.

Rangers owned the name "Senators", it would have cost $ to acquire.  Lerners voted for the cheaper option.    :mg:

Senators is a pretty lame name. Glad they went with Nationals.

Grays jerseys are hot, but I dig the Nats jerseys, too, so it's fine.
