Wasn't Big Z last? He had one last year
Yes, my bad no-hit Houston at Milwaukee right? OK before him

Livan bats third this inning...do we pinch hit?

I say only if we get a runner in scoring position.

if he comes up with 2 outs, let him hit, and then go back out there for the 7th.

But it is moreso with him. All pitchers want to stay in. But you can tell when a Smoltz is done. I've seen Livo go 150, and it means nothing for him to go 130. He's the rare rubber arm. He knows how to pitch in a way that puts little stress on his arm. In his mind, he pitches the entire game. It is not a question of pitch counts. It is a question of whether he is effective. Riggs can't treat him like the others. As long as the game is within a couple of runs, Livo should continue.

I definitely agree.  Obviously, with any pitcher you can tell when they are done.  With veterans, I think pitch counts become mostly irrelevant.  Those guys know when they are losing their stuff and if they are pitching well and say they can stay in, the manager should let them regardless of pitch count.  Of course, if they aren't pitching well or are obviously losing stuff/missing locations then the manager should be making the decisions whether they are done or not.

I don't know why he keeps swinging at that inside pitch either, Bob and Rob.

teams know where to pitch him now.

terrible swing on a pitch way up. AlGo shouldn't start again any time remotely soon.

he doesn't get it.

Heck, if he is up to it I would let him go against Koye Hill and pull him when they pinch hit for Harden.

I hope Desmond kicks ass when hes up here. That way we can rely on Desmond that way and start him or get a 2nd baseman... Algo is pissin me off.

but we're talking about Livan here. if Nieves gets out, I let him go back out for the 7th.

it's not that he's a great or special pitcher. it's just that he can handle more pitches than the average pitcher.

we're wasting a pinch hitter here, when we don't need to.
