Thom Lovero has always seemed more like a guy with an ax to grind than a real opinion. If he is saying positive stuff about the club all of a sudden I would wager it is more because they hired one of his favorite O's as manager over any real change in opinion.

I usually listen to sports reporters in the afternoon- he strikes me as a guy who's disappointed the team is better rather than a guy who hates the team

Interesting take. I remember listening to him on the "sports reporters" even when he was actually still employed as baseball writer. It always struck me that a guy who was paid to write about a team could lack so much knowledge of its players and organizational dynamics. I think perhaps he is way too obese to actually move around and get the information, so he camped by the buffet and made stuff up.
