Great at-bat for Marlon.  Used up 10 pitches and got on base!

Well the ball went right to the shortstop - the botch barely slowed it down ...

At least Brian managed to get to the pitcher's spot so Armas didn't have to lead off the third.....

Ugh, I hate to see marlon have this amazing at bat, making schmidt throw 11 pitches, then the next 2 batters are retired on 3 or 4 pitches. If you're a pitcher and not named livan hernandez, just stand there. Make the pitcher throw 5 extra pitches.

You all know how much I wanted to keep Alfie. Now that we didn't trade him, our obvious step is to sign him long-term. We love him for his hustle, his skills and his interaction with the team, fans and the community.

I just heard that he told Bowden today in the locker room: "we're just 7.5 games back from the wild card!" I heard he was smiling, but wasn't joking around whatsoever.

I know we all joked and said wow that's not so bad (but seeing how we have 10 teams in front of us, there is a 0.1 chance of that happening), but that just goes to show you what kind of player he is.

Tony seems to be working the outside corner to righties really well.  All the putouts and assists are from:

Johnson, Anderson, Church and Kearns.

That's the way Tony.  He didn't fool with the 7-8-9 hitters

Sooner he signs the more comfortable I would feel about it.

let me ask this, at the risk of beating a dead horse.

is it somehow NOT possible for Soriano to steal 40 bases while batting 4th?

i mean is he ALWAYS going to have people on base in front of him?

Canseco was a 40-40 guy, did he ever bat leadoff?

This is a big inning for Armas.  Schmidt easily took down our 1-2-3 hitters.  Armas needs to do the same to them.
