All I can say is it's not about ability or injury. RT @SoxFanForsyth: @keithlaw Signability problems with Appel?

SF, where do you get an opinion like that? Have you studied his film yourself or something? Did you read someone's opinion that Buxton would bust?

You're clearly not appreciating the power of mindfacts.

Just a gut feeling from reading up on him. Might be dead wrong but we will see.

Fried to Padres.

No way Appel falls to 16, Nats don't have the budget for him. They will go with an affordable college arm like Stroman, Heaney, or Wacha.

I didn't think any team would incur draft pick penalty. May happen w/whoever takes Appel. No idea where he goes. #mlbdraft

Also the draft is already proving to be screwed up.

Appel wasn't supposed to drop due to signability. Boras strikes again... likely in the Nats favor.

The A's? No way. Isn't this about signability?

Difference between the Pirates and Nats isn't all that great - $2.8m slot budget vs $2.125m.

If you go over your "pool" can lose your pick next year.

Basically if you think next years talent sucks... you can blow it on someone this year. It's a garbage system... already been proven tonight.

Yes.

It's a totally screwed up system that doesn't work... and Appel falling already proves it.
