Hey, they've had almost 3 extra hours to get all liquored up, by this point, he probably thinks he's Dick Tracy.

I still want that wrist watch!

A Dunn homered to center, R Bernadina and R Zimmerman scored.

Depends on what he asks for.  If it's remotely reasonable they absolutely must sign him.  If he's trying to leverage the idiotic Howard contract into his negotiations then he's gone.

If it turns out that it is in the Howard range, then yeah, that would be insane.  From what I have read, though, it is an issue of years and not money.  Now, while more years=more money, I can't imagine Dunn losing much of his power in 4 years and certainly the walks will still be there.  This guy has skillsets that should last another 4 years at least.  Really what I am concerned about is what it will mean to lose him.  You have to find someone that can replace him, that guy then has to mesh and develop chemistry with the team, and you have to find another way to produce some runs.  But, do you really think that he is asking for a Howard-type deal?  Even if he isn't, it is going to take some good money to keep him.

Maxwell has to be one of the worst hitters to ever don a uniform.

I forgot "The Butcher" was manning LF tonight.

I missed him.

My problem with signing/not signing dunn is they already know what he can do and that he wants to stay here and everyone on the club wants him to stay.

We could've had him for a "discount" but now we have to compete with the rest of baseball.

You don't remember Johnny Estrada, Rob Mackowiak, or Mike Restovich?

We would have well over 10 runs if Dessie was manning the 2 hole over Gonzalez.

I remember, but did any of them approach a double digit BA?  Fat Johnny was close at one point I think.

Restovich was .143, Mackowiak was .132, and Fat Johnny was .170 but it was a lot uglier than the number indicates.

Maxwell isn't good at hitting, but I wouldn't put him as the worst.  At least he has some good power.

Did you know the Clippard is second in the NL in strikeouts for a reliever?

Are you even allowed to go watch those games? Or are they played at the team complexes away from fans?

I believed you are allowed to go and that admission may even be free at most rookie league games.

It is nice not to have Dibble screaming at Clippard the entire time he is in the game.

I certainly don't miss that.

Third time Carp has pulled out the Griffey slump joke?  At least he is staying away from a discussion on maple bats.

Ever notice Clippard has no middle ground?  He either looks like the best reliever in the history of the game, or gets flat out shelled.

They're scared to death of Dunn. Intentionally walking him down 8-3 with a RHB on deck, and you've got a LHP on the mound? Wow.

I could see it to set up the DP with JMax or Sludge behind him, but it's Desmond pinch hitting.  That's insane.

As a majority of us have said ... Counter Strike is going to be a solid relief pitcher for us.
