Can we please let this joke die?  None of the people who ever said anything to that effect even post here anymore :?

Only if it takes VORP and Ronnie Belliard to the boneyard with it.

Tom and Air Zimmerman are still active posters.

Not that that's entirely relevant, it just feels like the "nice guy" joke has been beaten to death, resurrected, and beaten again.

I guess.  I'm pretty tired of the lack of real discussion around here.  It's just a bunch of worn out gags and competing egos.

As much as you are correct, their really isnt anything to discuss right now. Our organization hasn't done anything active, our team is 13-36, and some youngsters are producing but we wont see them yet. Its kind of a barren wasteland of discussion right now.

But seriously-- how many different ways can you say "This team sucks" and have it sound like real discussion every time out? If only the team would give us something to really discuss.

Sad but true.

Also, that is a really creepy picture.

They are ripping Schneider good on the Mets board tonight after the Mutts blew a 5-0 lead and gave up 5 runs in the 8th inning. They now trail 8-5.

Quote
He should NOT be calling for fastballs if the Pirates are crushing them. Santos should be playing tonight...

Quote
HE'S A M0RON!!!! I DESPISE SCHNEIDER!

Quote
No question Schneider's game calling sucks and his bat is horrible. Thank god this is his last year of his contract. He will go down as one of the worst met catchers of all time.

Quote
Where are all the Schneider defenders. I discussed AT LENGTH that Schneider is a known problem.

Quote

Seriously. On an 0-2 count he was sitting right on edge of the plate with his glove on the outer *half* of the plate. His glove should be 6-8 inches *OFF* the freaking plate! Is it any wonder the Pirates are crushing the ball?!?!

freak you, Brian.

According to beat reporter Jen Langosch at MLBlogs, the Pirates have acquired outfielder Chris Snelling from the Padres for future considerations. He'll be assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Snelling, 27, had signed a minor-league deal with the Pads in March. He's put up a .760 OPS in 93 games on various teams dating back to 2002.

Shawn Hill (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday, the Padres' official site reports.  The Padres are still having difficulty determining what exactly is causing Hill discomfort. What's clear is that he won't be coming back any time soon. Hill's move helped create room for Josh Banks and Mike Ekstrom to join the club from Triple-A Portland.

Shawn Hill = John Patterson.

Imagine if he had been penciled in to be in the Nationals' 2009 rotation?  Thank goodness the front office spent millions to hire... Daniel Cabrera, instead.

Yeah, we totally needed him this season. Totally.
