More people would read these if you put 'em in the GD threads.

Maybe.  But sometimes they're already locked.

That's true. I hate that.

How long after a game ends do you think the thread should be open?

And I disagree anyway...  too many good posts get lost in the clutter of gameday threads, I like having these articles as seperate threads.

So you think game summaries should get their own threads? That's just weird to me.

It makes sense to lock yesterday's GD thread when today's game has started, but why do it before that? People sometimes still have things to say about a game the morning after.

Or you could just go to Nationals.com and just read the article he copies over here and not clutter the board.

I guess I don't see how the OTHER team's article about the game is our "game summary" but I'll talk to 2k6 about standardizing.  To his credit, I think he already had a similar idea, but I know I've locked up the threads early sometimes because you guys will go off on a completely unrelated tangent (hockey?) and I prefer to keep the game threads on-topic.

I like going off on tagents. I know my eighth grade geometry teacher would agree.

As long as they're not a tangent on other sports. I'm sure there are Caps and Redskins boards galore for these guys to talk up. Take it elsewhere and let us talk Nats here.

If there is no game, what could you possibly post that would make the situation better?

make the situation better? I don't know what that means.

I just don't understand why they freaking lock the threads as soon as the game is over/called. Not allowing people to post their comments/thoughts at all. restricting board activity.

where else can people post their thoughts if the game thread is locked and these thoughts do not fit into any other thread?

anyways, since there is no where else to post this comment I will post it here:
Why don't we skip D-Crab's turn in the rotation and have JZ pitch on Wednesday in LA?

Only in Nats related threads I guess. I don't really care for the NFL either way.

And if it was important a new thread could be created.

I confess, I think part of the fun of the Gamethreads was the periods before and after the game where we either pumped each other up/voiced or dread and celebrated ultimate victory/cussed the team out. Yeah, sometimes the discussion strayed, but it was fun.

Now that there is this time limit thread open/close BS and I think it sort of ruined some of it.
