Oh, we're ALREADY there!

You're behaving like sportsfan.   Until I see a pattern of this in the regular season I'm not adopting that frame of thinking. We do have a murderous schedule to open up though.

You know, I don't think I've ever heard Guzman speak before.  I think I just started to believe he was like the Sasquatch or something and just doesn't speak.

I wouldn't be mad. I think things have been so bad for us that some people are under the delusion that Strasburg (as good as he is) will come in a save the franchise over night. That isn't going to happen with one college pitcher. He would just be one piece. My fear is that the Lerners will use that (and paying him high dollar) to buy more patience and to keep from spending in the immediate future.

I have been thinking that we wouldn't be getting him the second that people (including myself) started hyping him up on this board.  The good news is that there should be plenty of talent to go around this year in the draft.  Strasburg will probably be a once in the decade type of player, though.

speaking of strasburg, you know next year we supposedly have a very nice draft class.

and we are virtually guaranteed to get no lower than the 3rd pick regardless, i think.

and you know what, if we end up with the 3rd pick...I'm cool with that.  we can take the best available bats with our 3 and 10 picks.  and goddammit sign them immediately.

so...with his 2 HRs tonight, has Dukes jumped into the race for 20?

We've been outscored 71-6 over the last 2 games. That is seriously troubling. I don't care if the games don't count in the standings because they count for much more than that. This team is in shambles just 1 week before the real games start. Are they all of a sudden going to flip the switch and start playing up to their potential? I am very worried. They could easily pull a Nats and get into a huge hole that they are unable to climb out of.

"which hit was the hardest to get?"

my god, Debbi asks the dumbest ass questions.

a triple is always the hardest one to get.

She is so freaking clueless. But I heard she has a wealth of baseball knowledge.

Preferably college bats. We need to draft another Zimmerman-like player that is close to ML-ready right away.

I doubt he will end up with 20, but I could see him ending in the 15 range

Look into Grant Green and Dustin Ackley, both could be top 5 picks next year.

I am so proud of the guys that have been filling in for the injured.  They have been putting up one hell of a fight.  But the sooner we get Patterson, Hill, and Bergmann back, the better for the team.

Wow.

You would NEVER guess who posted that.

wow, today was an awesome game to go to. Arrived half an inning late, to see it was 2-0 and got in the seats right when Anderson got out. Damn the place went pretty nuts for Dukes homerun, as well as Guz. Guz was on fire though.

Hell yea nats!! (i still hope we keep this up but have pads and mariners do well as well, i want strasburg :D)

DUKES WAS SIMPLY A MAN AMONGST BOYS TONIGHT! the power Dukes possesses is phenomenal. it's almost unfair to be built like Dukes, he's a FREAK physical specimen.

and congrats to Guzy on the cycle!
