Uncharacteristic outing for Chico who's been so solid of late -

It's so frustrating to know that the tigers should only have 2 runs - gave away 2 in the first inning and an out here that only plates the 1 run so far - can't get over how bipolar this team can be - they can look so good and then just look awful ....

That's not surprising - still no outs runners on the corner - gonna get real ugly in a hurry ....

Abreu is garbage.. complete garbage.  why in the hell is he on this team?  If he's not demoted by next week then this team has serious problems.

9-1.. what a freaking embarrassment.  This will surely lead the Baseball Tonight highlights.  Look at the Nats, they face a legit opponent at home and they are getting their asses absolutely kicked.   :-[

I'm not impressed by Abreu either. Never have ben. He's more horrible than Rivera with inherited runners. I hope he's the first sent back down when theguys return

I guess all the people from this Forum who attended this Tiger laugher can never attend another game until the jinx is broken.  The Tigers team batting average is .293, the BEST in MLB.  We fielded a rookie pitcher.  No contest...

Now score some runs.  We still need to get accustomed to scoring more at home.

Looking at the scoreboard, winning is secondary at this point.

...maybe tertiary.

Well, this is the 3rd game of the last 4 that we have completely gave up on from the start.  Definitely not a good sign.

well abreu is coming back out. it seems Manny has conceded this loss, and just wants to survive this game and keep the bullpen intact.

Maroth: 5 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB 4 K (55 pitches)

That is the biggest joke I have ever seen.  We are letting some chump completely manhandle us.

You should never get embarrassed, even when you lose!  >:(

The fact that we're at home makes it even more inexcusable.

Despite giving up 9 runs, the Nats offense should have at least put up 4-5 runs by now against this sorry pitcher.  They face mediocre pitcher tomorrow and then a decent but not unhittable pitcher on Wednesday.  We are going to have to score in the double digits to beat these guys I am afraid of though.  Simontacchi and Bacsik will probably be dead meat over the next two games.

I'm laughing now at the 3-3 split I predicted for this homestand.

After this game I am just praying that we can end the home stand with 2 wins.

At least Guzman is hitting again, but of course the rest of the team is not. Nice swing Lopez
