I've started playing 1B on my men's team. I enjoy it quite a bit. I use a 28 oz. Easton bat. Tried dropping to a 26, but was way in front of everything.

This is softball right? Or your league allows pre bbcor baseball bats? I'm using a Dove Tail Bats DT71 33" -2 oz. The -2 has much more pop than the -3 oz bats. I was surprised how much denser the wood is just by going one ounce heavier.

Yeah. Ended up playing like the hot corner though with lefties though.

I'm gonna try the 28 again this weekend. I've been using a 30 since the get-go

Yeah, but we don't have too many of those in our league.

I was surprised at the number last game (I think they had three). One hit a scorcher down the line that I couldn't play.

It'd be kind of fun to get in the cage and try to swing lefty for craps and gigs.

Doubleheader in the heat. Brutal games. 2-5 with 2 BB. Couple POs in CF (a Ben Revere catch on the wall  ), but played SS in the second game. Zero range. Almost ate a ball too after a bad hop. Still had 1 PO.

Where do you play?  In Denver itself, or what?

Had to forfeit our "playoff" game (everyone got in). No one wanted anything to do with this team anymore ha. 1 or 2 fall leagues should be fun though.

Got an A2K tonight that has a pinky loop. Not a fan at all. May end up taking it out. Hard to go 2 in the pink, too.

Are you an outfielder? The only guys I know that do 2 in the stink are outfielders. I actually have a custom Asics glove made for it coming in about 3 months and a ssk probrain (yes thats really the name for it) gloves that take 2 in the stink rather well. Japanese gloves typically have pinky loops and makes it easy to put two in the pinky. But that might be for Japan market gloves only. The A2K is made in Japan, but made differently from the Wilson gloves made in Japan for the Japan market.  Sadly no one makes gloves in America any more except for maybe Nokona, but their gloves are so soft and not a fan of their gloves at all.  Rawlings (even the gloves made for the pros are made in the Philippines and Wilson A2000 are all made in Vietnam and A2K in Japan.

Do you have a glove mallet? I used to use the handle of mine to stretch the pinky loop. It's perfect now.

There's rumors of allowing BBCOR bats where I'm at. Too many guys are complaining about wood bat costs.

I definitely do 2 in the pink in the OF. I didn't notice much lost in the heel when doing it at SS, but I've only got limited reps. This A2K will the INF glove anyways, so I'll probably go standard. I don't mind the pinky loop -- it's just that this one is really tight. I might try that. Gotta find out how it's laced.

Fire BrandonK!

I quit!

There's an enormous field in my area if anyone ever wants to throw the ball around a bit or take some practice swings.  Might be a good candidate for a DC-area meet-up.

In softball?  If you're breaking wood bats in softball you're doing it wrong.

As always, when I am in the area, I'm all in!
