Pessimistic Thread *grumble* *grumble*
« Topic Start: August 29, 2007, 10:03:16 AM »
The Nats are the worst. We might as well start cheering for the O's. *Insert Choice here* is terrible for *insert reason here*. He is *insult here*. We should just pick up *other team's player*. Grumble grumble.

Choices:
Cordero
Rauch
Belliard
Jimenez
Bergmann

Reasons:
Giving up a home run
Blowing a save
missing a catch
striking out
getting shelled
slumping

Insults:
fat
a bum
a choke artist
beachball
a AAAA player
worse than *insert O's player*

Other team's player:
Rowand
Soriano
random 4th starter
Livan
any number of traded Expos

This should save people time in the future. just follow the template

You beat me to it, PANatsFan (except that I wasn't going to offer player name choices...)  :)

Choices:
Cordero
Rauch
Belliard
Jimenez
Bergmann

Cordero: One of the games great closers. Having a bit of a slump now, but will snap out soon.
Rauch: When he's on his game, is dominating.
Belliard: Great all around player and I hope he's with us for years to come.
Jimenez:  You got me. It isn't clear why we have him.
Bergmann: Will be a centerpiece of the starting rotation for many years.

I'll have what you're drinking :)

Chad Cordero is the Rex Grossman of closers. He gets the job done 3/4's of the time but will absolutely embarrass himself the other 1/4th, and it's no surprise to anyone.  And both keep their job despite having bad statistics and a suitable alternative on the team.

If you're going to post in the "grumble" thread - you'll need expletives, exclamation points, and various other insults to qualify ...

I thought the "Rex Grossman" line was insult enough - that guy sucks!

That's okay! I don't know that Blazing Saddles was the original intention of the thread, but the grumble*grumbles reminded me of the "harrumph" scene.

Chad Cordero is the Rex Grossman of closers.

So if our defense is solid, he should be fine, right? Make it to the World Series? :)

More like undo a good effort from the rest of the team with 1 throw.

[He's not with the club and hasn't been since ST. Last I heard, he had gone to Texas for a consult and was being told he needed surgery to pitch again. That was months ago. I think he opted to go home to the ranch.]

We could call up Hector Carrasco, who's pitching poorly in AAA. That might quell the hand-wringing about the promising Hanrahan.

Or we could just go outside and eat dirt because no one likes us and everything stinks and someone took our lunch money--again.
