Having him throw 123 pitches when the team has to play with no off day is ridiculous. Not to mention that Livan has struggled in this outing. I would take any of our bullpen arms over a tired struggling Livan. Riggleman should have used a pinch hitter. I'm pretty sure a 1 run game is an important situation for your pinch hitters. If you know that you are going to take him out after 2 batters so that the lefty relief pitcher can face the Left handed batter, there is no point in leaving him in the game after the amount of pitches he has thrown.

You make an awful lot of assumptions there. He likely gets the chance to finish the inning if he doesn't walk him.

if we were the phils, we would get these calls. but in the umps eyes, we're still the 100 + loss Nats. hopefully, by September we start getting the calls.

and pudge with a money throw - desmond had the tag - he was out by a mile. i only saw the replay, but he looked out for sure.
