Secret. Raaaaaaaaaanger fan. Telling you he likes Nats, but really he likes Texas.

No but he's a BoSox fan, and all of their players are banged up. Maybe he's just a fan of the DL.

I don't have any cute song references for DL fans.

CarGo tonight - 3/4, 2-2B, 2-RBI, R, SB

He's going to run away with the MVP award at the rate he's going.
He shouldn't win the MVP his hitting IMO is closer to Pudge than it is Pujols.

I'd like to get Rasmus to be CF.

Interesting.  Wonder what it would take to get him?  Re-sign Dunn and trade whichever one of our AAAA pitchers they think Dave Duncan can fix to get Rasmus sounds like a nice offseason.  I think I'd go with Bernadina in CF and Rasmus in LF though.

crap, I would LOVE to have Rasmus.

Willingham, Bernadina/Rasmus (splitting time), Crawford with Morse getting a couple games a week in the OF/1B would be an AWESOME thing to have.

Sign Dunn and an OF of Willingham-Rasmus-Bernadina with Morse 4th OF and backup 1B. :az:

I think getting Rasmus would keep Crawford out of the situation.  At that point you just wait on Burgess, Perez, Hood, Ramirez et al. to get here.

Welp, there goes any trade leverage they might have had before.  I'd think Stammen or Atilano (or both) would really benefit from sitting under Dave Duncan's tutelage.

Why is he discontent in St. Louis?

Stammen would be great and a classy move by the organization for a guy who has been a trooper no matter the circumstances.

True. I wouldn't want anything to get in the way of Crawford but Rasmus would be my second option. He's got some talent.

Another bananas stat: C.J. Wilson has only given up 127 hits in 171.2 innings this season. Bananas.

It's going to take a whole lot more than Stammen and Atilano to get Rasmus. Rasmus is one of the best young players in the big leagues.

Throw in Burgess. That'd work for me.

I'm sure.  That's where I'd start though.

Why would the Cards trade a real good young player for an average prospect (Burgess) and a 4A player (Stammen or Atilano). We are going to have trade someone like Jordan Zimmermann to get Rasmus.

Rasmus definitely has the bat, but his defense has been way down this year compared to last.  Let's say Stammen, Burgess and one of our low A/short season guys.

Maybe before the news today.  His price just went way down.

There was no point where a potential staff ace would be traded for a good, but not great, CF.  The price may have gone down for now but could skyrocket after the FA market shakes out and teams that didn't get an OF upgrade bid against each other.  Offer a good package now if there's really interest and don't wait for the bidding war.

But now he's a malcontent who wants out and has a growing reputation of not playing well through the aches and pains of a long season.  I know he's really talented, but you don't get as much for a player with that stigma.  I'd certainly look into getting him, but he's not going to be nearly as expensive as he would have been 3 weeks ago.

Norris and one or two others would definitely get it done. I don't know if the Nats would trade Norris, though.

Trade them Desmond or Espinosa or Lombardozzi.

They have a ton of problems at 2B/SS. Hell, maybe even Kennedy and a couple prospects would get the deal done.
