I know football's not over yet, but I've got a baseball jones going on.

We're 6 weeks from the start of spring training and another 6 (ish) to opening day, 92 days to be exact.

92 is also the same number of career strikeouts Jordan Zimmermann has recorded at the Major League level.

I forgot he had 92 K's. I forget what a can't-miss prospect he is sometimes.

saw him pitch at potomac, he just blew away the batters at that level.  The 2011 season could be something special if he comes back strong and Strasburg is able to pitch a full season.

I'm not fretting over the surgery/injury (que sera sera with that), but I can't help but get annoyed thinking about what missing 1 year + will do to his development at a time like this.

I could give a rats ass about football and hockey only goes so far. January starts the longest time of the off season. I wish spring training would start already.

Don't be in such a rush, Rizzo still has a lot of work to do, it was only a few months ago that we were waiting for the season to come to a merciful end.

Where are we if we haven't any hope?  Not all of us were longing for it to be over, even if the team is having a bad year, they're still my team and I'll be anxiously awaiting first pitch.  I know Rizzo's not done, but I'm still ready for the season to start!

91 days until opening day.

91 is also the career home run total for Ryan Zimmerman.

I'm hoping to see a few more shrewd moves/signings before opening day but what has been done so far has already given me a healthy dose of cautious optimism.

This is also the countdown to when I get my name back Wink

I thought you had warmed up to "Dunnkey" and wanted to keep it forever, chief. Cool

It's not bad.  Continuity is probably best, though.  New people might see old posts talking about "chief" and wonder who the heck he is.  Or worse, think that Cordero used to post here or something <laughing>

Wait a tick. You are not Chad Cordero? I'm so disappointed; granted much less worried about this morphing into the Seattle Mariners Fan Forum. Wink

Not all of them yet, but a few of them, I haven't done that much research yet.  It's not that difficult to find something for each day.

Who's going to be at the game? I know I will.

As much as I hate Kasten... he's right; I'm giddy to see Halladay up close and in person.

I should start looking at potential games to take a trip down to DC for sometime. Will probably do it closer to the season though, maybe in March.

90 days to opening day.

90 is also the total number of innings pitched by Joel Hanrahan, Jorge Sosa and Julian Tavarez last year, 3 guys who will be far, far, far away from this year's roster.

He could use a nice mustache to help with his mound presence.
